A solar plant produces the Direct Current, and there are two types of panels one is of white color and another one is of blue color.

To make a solar cell we require silicon and if the silicon oxide is heated up to 2000 degree centigrade with coal then we get silicon extracted easily. It is a semi-conductor which sometimes allows the electric current to flow while sometimes it does not allow electric current to flow.  The silicon requires doping with aluminium which means that aluminium is added with silicon as an impurity.Same way if the doping is done with phosphorous valence of five electron and it can be said that doping of aluminium make silicon positive and doping with phosphorous make silicon negative. So this way the silicon is divided into two categories negative silicon and positive silicon.

The concept of P-N junction

So it can be said that P type of silicon the electrons are less while in N type of electron are more in numbers and when P-N silicon are connected together then it is called P-N junction which is the area that lies in the center of P-N, this results in the flow of electron from the side of negative silicon on giving the heat.  The source of heat nothing but it is the sun but here there is one condition that only the N silicon has to be exposed to solar heat.

The concept of solar cell

Solar cell is made up with the help of P-N junction and the N silicon is always placed above the P silicon. In this the doping is done more on the negative junction. Once the light falls on the N silicon the N silicon releases the electron on the expose to the heat while P silicon receives these electrons. But the flow of electron would be through the terminal to the P silicon. The problem is with this current is direct current or DC, while we require the alternate current or AC so here we need inverter that convert DC into AC.
